Nov 30th: A tractor for Ed Donlund
Today is my father’s birthday, and when I thought about the items he might want, it came down to an elephant, cinnamon buns, or a classic tractor.
Of course, I could never get him a real antique tractor, because of a) price, b) availability, and c) the fact that he would then become “that guy who drives around town in a tractor”. He so totally would. With a crow on his shoulder. Pulling a trailer with his elephant in it.
Okay, maybe next year.

What an amazing detailed drawing. I really admire you.

This is great! I can just picture you dad, toolin’ down the street, munchin’ on some cinnamon buns and discussing the fate of the world with his elephant. Your line work never ceases to amaze.

Thank you all! This one was a lot of fun to do—and drawing something with so much detail is somehow very relaxing, odd as that sounds.
I like this idea of drawing gifts rather than actually purchasing them—it’s one of those thought-that-counts kind of deals that the recipient can’t complain about, yet I don’t spend a penny, plus get my daily drawing done. This Christmas is shaping up to be an easy one on the pocketbook…

So where is the elephant and more importantly, the CINNAMON BUNS!
Best present ever!
