This spring I took a quick trip to Los Angeles, just to get away from the ordinary—which is something L.A. can certainly deliver on. While walking past a body shop I noticed this beauty sitting there and thought it was high time I did a new car portrait, so I snapped a photo. Granted, it took months for it to actually happen—but even now it conjures Beach Boys harmonizing.

  1. Oooooooh, I love those little T-Birds, and they really are so L.A., aren’t they? Beautiful job. Looks like you used your quill pen. You really know what you’re doing with that thing. I’ve yet to give mine a whirl. It sits there staring at me, begging me to get over myself and give it a try, hee hee!

Hope all is well and you’re enjoying your new gig!

  2. Great illo! Indeed a real Beach Boy Boulevard Cruiser. Too bad they don’t make these cars anymore, but at least we have now your drawing to look at!
