According to Wikipedia, “the term jack-o’-lantern originally meant a night watchman, or man with a lantern, with the earliest known use in the mid-17th century”. They neglect to mention how said night watchman ended up decapitated with a lit candle in his mouth.

  2. I have looked at your drawings and absolutely love your style! You make drawing look so free and easy.
Oh and that fear of messing up your sketchbook? Most everyone has it at first. Tryslapping a bit of watercolour on the pages of your sketchbook. The next time you open the book, the pages will no longer be blank. The idea is that they are ‘already’ messed up (with random marks of paint), so you feel less inhibited about doodling and drawing on them.
Please keep drawing and showing more! I will return often to view your work. I love it!

  4. Great sketching. I really like your style. This is a wonderful photograph - I did an ‘illustrated story’ about halloween on my scribbles blog and did a daily ’sketchercize’ for a year - on my fivekradius blog - the best project I’ve ever done., I think. Good luck with your chalenge.

  5. Really like your style. Your lines are so clean and fresh. And I love the cars! Aren’t they hard to draw? I have drawn one good one in my entire life. They are so hard because of all the different perspective lines. I’m much better with the human figure, but sometimes you find an interesting car and just want to draw it. Very, very nicely done.
